Objectives

Through this project, the Orpheus Institute aimed to strengthen its role as a European hub for artistic research and doctoral education, while ensuring that the benefits would be felt both locally and internationally. Given the specific structure of the doctoral programme docARTES (acknowledged by EPOS and included in the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education), the mobilities were primarily staff-based. These mobilities were intended not only to exchange expertise, but also to contribute directly to the long-term development of artistic research in Europe. The main objectives were to: • Advance artistic research methodologies by developing, applying, and disseminating innovative approaches and evaluative frameworks that can be embedded in doctoral training and shared across artistic and academic contexts. • Promote digital and technological innovation by exploring new tools for artistic practice, teaching, and research, and assessing their implications for higher education and the cultural sector. • Foster sustainable European cooperation by building long-term partnerships with higher education institutions, co-developing creative and methodological practices, and embedding sustainability in mobility and collaboration. • Contribute expertise to the wider sector by sharing the institute’s knowledge in developing, implementing, and disseminating artistic research, and engaging in dialogue with other fields of education and research. • Encourage inclusive and diverse research cultures by supporting intercultural dialogue, diversity of perspectives, and equal opportunities in both local and international contexts. Through these objectives, the Orpheus Institute sought to align its activities with the Erasmus+ programme priorities: promoting innovation and excellence in higher education, enhancing the international and local dimensions of doctoral education, embedding sustainability and inclusion, and contributing to a more connected, resilient European Higher Education Area.
