The primary objectives of the project were to develop a framework and game design for LifeComps using game-based learning. This approach aims to provide effective learning opportunities for adults. Specifically, the project wanted to create a game for life competence development in line with the LifeComp framework from the European Union (Sala et al., 2020). Ultimately, our goal is to make adult learners more resilient and adaptable to the demands of a rapidly changing society and labor market.
The project was applied for to design and test a game-based learning framework for life competencies (LifeComps), addressing the need for adults to adapt to a rapidly changing society and labor market. Life Competencies consist of personal, social, and learning to learn competencies, including self-regulation, flexibility, wellbeing, empathy, communication, collaboration, growth mindset, critical thinking, and managing learning (Sala et al., 2020). This initiative is particularly focused on young adult learners who lack essential life competencies necessary for inclusion in everyday life and the broader society. The project aims to provide effective learning opportunities that enhance participation in society and improve resilience in both formal and informal learning settings.
