Objectives

Τhe main objectives of the Digital Bridges project were: - to empower young migrants and refugees in Belgium, Italy and Lithuania to develop digital entrepreneurship skills and improved their employability - to support their social inclusion by providing tailored training and support that took into account their unique cultural, linguistic and socioeconomic backgrounds - to equip youth workers with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively support and mentor young people with migrant backgrounds in their digital entrepreneurship journey

Background

Digital entrepreneurship is a rapidly developing field, particularly well-suited to young people who may lack resources but are skilled in digital technology. This is especially relevant for young migrants and refugees who face challenges in integrating into new countries, as digital entrepreneurship can provide opportunities for social and economic inclusion. An online business can overcome language barriers and provide access to global networks and collaboration. Digital entrepreneurship also empowers young immigrants and refugees to create innovative products and services based on their unique experiences and perspectives. Changing living countries can be traumatic for young people, especially when fleeing war, persecution, or poor economic conditions. Successful integration into the labour market is critical for their well-being and financial stability. Therefore, extra support and resources are necessary to empower these vulnerable young people, allowing them to build their own businesses and build bridges with their communities.
