We wanted to take this youngster out of their daily grind and provide them a much-needed breathing space, an opportunity to pause, meet their peers, learn new competences and relax. We could cluster our objectives under three headings: 1) Opportunities To offer youngsters the opportunity to leave their environment for a while and to meet their peers in a stress-free environment. To take a moment to reflect on where they are and where they want to head at in life. To realize that there are many opportunities that can contribute to their future such as the European volunteering (we recently obtained our quality label) where they can do volunteering work abroad for up to a year where they can acquire new competences, skills and learn a new language. Depending on their knowledge, interests and skills we can guide these youngsters and inform them about coding possibilities, opportunities within the youth sector... During our exchange we will focus on local games from our regions. This created a positive aura arount the animator course for the Belgian participant. Because one of the participants allreday had done this course. So other participants showed interest as well. For the Turkish participants did show the strength of non formal learning and youth work. - encouraging young people’s active participation in society. - to enable more people to benefit from the Erasmus+ program. - to hear more about opportunities to volunteer and opportunities in the youth sector 2) Broaden horizons We want to make it clear to young people that the world is bigger than their neighborhood and that there is a lot to discover. We motivated them to push their boundaries and engage in dialogue with their peers in other countries. So that they can create new networks and form friendships. In this way we contributed to European identity formation so that they become more active citizens. - to raise awareness among youngsters about intercultural learning, youthwork and non formal learning - to develop mutual understanding between young people in both countries. - to make new connections and establish new relationships with their peers. 3) Personal development and growth We toke this opportunity to reflect. To stop for a moment and question where we are in life and which direction we want to go. Where they can let go of their problems, day-to-day stresses and to get a clearer view. Where they reflect on what they want to learn and are learning. Where they gain new skills and competencies and ultimately grow as individuals. - to empower young people. - to develop key competences of young people. - to take a break and reflect about their goals in life.
