Our project team including partner organizations and team leaders from Belgium, Georgia, Armenia, Greece, Lithuania, and Spain created the youth exchange “Let’s Get Digital” with the main aim of improving youngsters’ digital skills and increasing employment chances in the labor market. Since unemployment is one of the main social issues in developing countries, we recognized the mismatch of skills, especially a lack of digital skills, as a main problem. By creating this project, we believed that we could equip participants with the practical knowledge and digital competencies essential for raising employment opportunities and their competitiveness. While working on our idea, we defined one of the main issues as the gap between formal education and demand in the labor market. Since formal educational institutions still use traditional methods of teaching and do not integrate enough digital education into their teaching methods, we aimed to use non-formal educational approaches to enhance digital skills among youngsters. Besides the competencies, we wanted to raise their confidence through our project, increase their sense of self-worth, and enhance communication skills - which we believed was one of the most important aspects of becoming competitive in the labor market during the digital era. With our project, we aimed to help participants learn more about Erasmus+ activities; To boost youth self-confidence and leadership; We wanted to empower youngsters to develop digital storytelling skills; To enhance communication skills; To encourage participant’s creative thinking; To develop the networking potential of the participants and partner organizations to build cooperation that will create future partnership opportunities. All partners with the collaborative work created the objectives of the project and decided to work on core issues through our youth exchange. Based on the observation of ongoing situations and social issues, we decided to address problems such as the low unemployment rate among youth, lack of communication, digital skills, self-confidence and leadership skills. After the project, based on the experience of the participants, we received feedback from each partner, which in general underlined the following: Participants explored new tools and methods, gained new skills and knowledge, became more confident in their actions and work, expanded network and explored new cultures. Our project took an essential place for our participants since they gained skills that will assist them in all steps of their personal and professional lives.
