Objectives

The reporting period covers the academic year 2023/2024 and mainly the academic year 2024/2025. The University of National and World Economy (UNWE), through the Directorate of International Affairs and the Student and Staff Mobility Division, implemented the Erasmus+ project with the main objective of ensuring high-quality mobility opportunities for students and staff and of establishing a transparent, fair, and consistent procedure for awarding grants within the academic community. The project was aimed at increasing the number of incoming and outgoing mobilities, expanding opportunities for cooperation through the signing of new inter-institutional agreements, as well as developing new curricula and enhancing the quality of English-taught instruction. An essential part of the objectives was the introduction of new digital tools, developed by the team of the Student and Staff Mobility Division and the use of platforms in line with the priorities set out in the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education 2021–2027, related to digital management of mobility and the European Student Card initiative. In addition, the university placed emphasis on promoting both the institution and Bulgaria as attractive destinations for international mobility. UNWE also worked purposefully to improve the quality of student learning through the application of knowledge and competences acquired during mobilities. Through this project, the university pursued the dual goal of providing enriching international opportunities for its students and staff, while at the same time modernising its academic and administrative practices in line with European and global priorities in higher education.
