Through this project we aimed to create a pathway for learning and transformation that nurtures individuals and organisations while serving European priorities. Our vision was to bring Soulscaping to life: curated learning experiences that raise awareness of environmental and mental health through ecopsychology, build resilience through therapeutic practices, and link wellbeing with ecological sustainability. We set four goals: Capacity building – to strengthen our two NGOs by exchanging knowledge, building partnerships, and developing skills in facilitation, management, and communication. Shared resources – to design and publish a workbook, journal, and curriculum integrating ecopsychology, trauma-informed care, and nature-based practices. Learning centres – to establish hubs in Bulgaria and Estonia where adults can experience Soulscaping in immersive landscapes. Pilot testing – to engage 15 participants, including professionals, youth workers, and people with vulnerabilities, to refine the method. We contribute to Erasmus+ by fostering inclusion, promoting well-being, using digital tools for collaboration and emphasizing sustainability and ecology.
We applied to address the rising need for nature-based approaches to learning and mental wellbeing in Europe. Throughout our work in regenerative design and sustainability, one theme emerged: nature as remedy for disconnection that modern society promotes. Many individuals, especially young adults and those with psychological vulnerabilities, sought tools to restore balance and connection. The mental health crisis made action urgent, with over 20% of EU citizens experiencing mental health problems, while nature exposure reduces stress and improves mood. Both our young NGOs needed capacity building, funding for learning centers, and knowledge exchange. The project addresses three needs: for individuals, inclusive spaces supporting mental health and ecological awareness; for organisations, capacity building through transnational cooperation; for the field, innovative eco-psychology resources promoting inclusion and green transition. We aimed to create the Soulscaping methodology combining eco-psychology, trauma-informed care, and regenerative design; produce open educational resources; establish two centres in Bulgaria and Estonia; and demonstrate small organizations' impact through Erasmus+.
