Background

The current social and geopolitical situation in Europe and the world is marked by uncertainty, war, climate change, and economic recession. The pandemic has left a lasting impact, while the European Union is still grappling with the war in Ukraine, climate change, and the need for a greener, more digital society. These challenges disproportionately affect vulnerable young people, especially those transitioning into the labor market or categorized as NEETs. The urgency of making Europe greener and more independent, as highlighted by the World in 2030 Survey and WWF, requires collective action. Beyond individual responsibility, institutional policies must equip young people with the skills to address environmental and societal challenges. The project addresses the depletion of natural resources, the growing impacts of global warming, and rising inequality. Its core motivation is to educate and empower youth workers with the knowledge and skills needed to face these challenges and educate others. Environmental education is key to reshaping the educational system and promoting green values in response to current crises, including the war in Ukraine, which further strains natural resources.
