Bridging intercultural, intergenerational and social divideInclusion, promoting equality and non-discriminationInclusion of marginalised young people

Objectives

Through our project, we aimed to achieve the following: Effective project planning, cooperation and implementation; Reinforcing links between research, policy, and practice through reliable data on youth needs; Promoting equality, non-discrimination and inclusion of marginalized youth through education; Sharing results and ensuring long-term impact in the form of products, conclusions and good practices.

Background

We applied to address the rising prevalence of hate speech among young people and to bridge the gaps between research, policy, and practice. Our research identified several key challenges: uncertainty and tension in interreligious interactions (stronger in Bulgaria and Turkey); frequent occurrences of humiliating statements both online and offline; low confidence in reporting incidents, especially in Poland and Turkey; and significant discrepancies in understanding and procedures across institutions and countries. To tackle these issues, there was a clear need for a common framework that includes uniform terminology, practical fieldwork tools, and well-defined mechanisms for reporting, support, and prevention. This project aimed to provide precisely that, creating a structured approach to reduce hate speech and enhance social inclusion among young people across different national contexts.
