Through this project, our goal was to empower young people with fewer opportunities and from specific social backgrounds to actively participate in society and improve their overall well-being. By supporting their social inclusion, we sought to help them overcome social exclusion and feel accepted in their communities. The main achievement was strengthening resilience, self-esteem, and stress management skills so that young people could cope with everyday challenges. By developing high-quality materials, the project aimed to provide both youth workers and young people with practical tools and skills to more successfully manage and work with challenging behavior. By applying storytelling methods and relaxation techniques for the body and mind, we sought to facilitate personal and social development and to create sustainable and transferable results so that other organizations could also implement them, for the benefit of young people outside the consortium.
Today, young people are under increasing pressure due to higher societal expectations for excellence and success. Low resilience and low self-esteem can lead to harmful coping strategies, poor decision-making, and emotional difficulties, especially among young people who feel excluded and have limited opportunities. Young people with fewer opportunities often have limited chances to develop these key life skills. Our project focused on prevention rather than treatment. It supported young people from diverse social and life backgrounds in building resilience, boosting their self-esteem, and developing healthier ways to cope with stress, thereby promoting their well-being and social inclusion.
