The main goal of this project, "From Waste to Wear: Building Skills for a Greener Wardrobe!" was to inspire young people to think more about how their fashion choices impact the environment. With implementing this project, we wanted to make them more aware of the problems caused by the fashion industry, such as pollution and waste. The idea was to show that fashion can be both stylish and sustainable. We also aimed to create a space where young people from 7 different countries could come together, share ideas, and learn from each other. This project wasn’t just about learning new skills, but also about connecting with others who care about the same environmental issues and making impact in their environment. We wanted to build a community of young people who are passionate about making a positive change in the world, starting with their wardrobes. Another important aspect was to give young people, especially those who are new to the Erasmus+ program or who face different challenges in their lives, the chance to participate in an international project. For many, this might have been their first experience traveling abroad and working on an international team. We wanted to make sure that everyone, no matter their background or obstacles they face, could feel included and valued in this project. In addition, we hoped that by the end of the project, participants would not only have new skills and knowledge but also feel more confident and empowered to take action in their own communities. Whether it’s organizing a clothes swap, starting a sustainable fashion blog, or just making more conscious choices when shopping, we wanted the participants to leave with a sense of responsibility and the tools they need to make a difference. With implementation of this YE we aimed to confirm that the project’s impact would continue even after the exchange ended. We encouraged participants to share what they learned with others and to continue working on sustainable fashion initiatives in their home countries. The objectives of our project were carefully planned to address the key issues related to sustainable fashion and to secure a meaningful experience for all participants. • Firstly, we wanted to increase awareness among young people about the environmental impact of the fashion industry. Many people don't realize how much waste is generated by the production and disposal of clothing. By educating participants about these issues, we aimed to encourage them to think critically about their fashion choices and to adopt more sustainable practices. • To develop practical skills in the participants. We wanted them to learn how to repurpose old clothes, use sustainable materials, and create new items from waste such plastic bags. These skills are not only useful for reducing textile waste but also for promoting creativity and innovation. By the end of the project, participants were able to apply these skills in their everyday lives, whether by upcycling their own clothes or by starting projects in their communities. • To stimulate a sense of community and collaboration among the participants. The project brought together young people from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds. One of our goals was to create a supportive environment where participants could share their ideas, learn from each other, and work together towards common goals. This collaboration was crucial for the success of the project and for the participants' personal and social development. • Inclusion was another key objective of our project. We wanted to make sure that everyone, regardless of their background or experience, could participate fully in the project. This included young people who were new to the Erasmus+ program, as well as those facing social, economic, or other challenges. By involving a diverse group of participants, we aimed to create a more inclusive and supportive environment where everyone could feel valued and contribute their unique perspectives. • Provide opportunities for personal and professional development, including skills related to leadership, teamwork, communication, and intercultural competence. • Provide an opportunity for young people to learn more about Erasmus+ programme, to explore new opportunities and show interest to join some other mobility or programme. • Provide a chance to network, to find people with same interests, to expore new places and to get friends for life. • Provide a chance to learn and to embrace new cultures and promote our own. • Finally, we wanted the project to have a lasting impact. Our objective was not only to educate and inspire the participants during the exchange but also to encourage them to take action after returning to their home countries. We hoped that the participants would continue to promote sustainable fashion and environmental awareness in their communities, spreading the knowledge and skills they gained during the project.
