Objectives

By implementing this project ““Embracing Our Bodies: A Journey to Body Acceptance” (BODY-ACCEPT)”, we aimed to achieve several important goals related to personal development, body positivity, and community engagement. Below we are describing in details all the goals and objectives that we aimed to work on: • Personal growth: We wanted participants to grow personally by improving their self-awareness and understanding of body image. Through different activities and workshops, our goal was to help participants feel better about themselves and build their self-confidence so they as youth workers can transfer this to young people. We included creative exercises, body movement activities, and self-reflection sessions to support this growth. • Understanding body positivity: Another key aim was to educate participants about body positivity and acceptance. We wanted them to learn how societal standards and media influence body image. By discussing body acceptance and exploring the effects of body shaming, we hoped to help participants develop a healthier view of their own bodies and challenge negative stereotypes. • Community engagement: We also wanted to connect with the local community and make a positive impact. By implementing small event and interacting with local community, we shared our learnings with the community and promote a positive message about self-care and body acceptance. • Skill development: The project included different workshops and activities to help participants develop new skills. For example, we included practical workshops on body movement, mindful eating, and creating a podcast. • Creativity and expression: We aimed to encourage creativity through activities like art therapy, body painting, and creating a podcast. These activities were designed to help participants express themselves in new and meaningful ways, promoting their emotional well-being. • Evaluation and reflection: An important part of the project was to evaluate progress and reflect on the experiences. We wanted participants to share their thoughts and feedback through creative reflections and evaluations. This process was intended to help us understand the impact of the project and make any necessary improvements. • Building connections: Finally, we wanted to create a sense of community among participants. Through team-building activities, group games, and shared experiences, we aimed to help participants bond and build lasting relationships with each other. Mentioning the objectives of your project: • Personal learning goals: One of our main objectives was for 36 participants to set and achieve personal learning goals. At the start of the project, we introduced the Key Competencies of Youthpass. Participants were encouraged to set their own goals related to these competencies and work towards achieving them during the project. This was to make sure that everyone had clear personal objectives and could track their progress. • Understanding body positivity: This included learning about body acceptance, challenging societal standards, and recognizing the role of social media in shaping body image. Our workshops and discussions focused on these topics to build participants' awareness and encourage positive self-image. • Exploring societal influences: An important objective was to explore how society promotes body dissatisfaction. We wanted participants to understand the cultural norms and media messages that contribute to negative body image. • Developing practical skills: We aimed to provide participants with practical skills that they could use in their daily lives. This included workshops on body movement, nutrition, and self-care. We also focused on creative skills such as body painting and podcast creation. These activities were designed to offer practical benefits and improve participants' well-being. • Community engagement and impact: We wanted to make a positive impact on the local community. This objective was about connecting with others and promoting the values of the project outside of the participant group. • To empower participants to advocate for body positivity and to challenge harmful societal norms related to body image among young people through local activities and follow up activities • Involve 14 participants/youth workers facing fewer opportunities • To provide participants with tools and strategies to manage negative body thoughts and emotions, including techniques for self-compassion and self-care. • To create a safe and supportive environment for participants to share their experiences and learn from one another. • To test minimum 5 specific methods on the topic of body positivity • To develop A podcast with 3 episodes on the main topics of body acceptance • Building a supportive community: Finally, we wanted to build a supportive and connected community among participants. Through team-building activities, group bonding, and shared experiences, we aimed to foster a sense of belonging and support
