YOU FOCUS aimed to achieve several objectives aligned with the priorities of inclusion, diversity, and social engagement. By implementing the project, we successfully: - Facilitated knowledge exchange and shared best practices, enabling partner organizations to enhance their strategies for inclusion. - Educated members to plan and organize awareness campaigns and more specifically, through collaborative activities and targeted training, participants were equipped with the skills necessary to design and implement impactful awareness campaigns. - Provided youth workers with in-depth knowledge about ADHD while they gained practical tools and expertise, enabling them to understand ADHD better and support young people facing this challenge effectively. - Fostered an open environment where participants were encouraged to discuss health conditions such as ADHD, share experiences, and combat societal and self-stigma. - Equipped young people with the knowledge and skills needed to adopt healthier practices during adolescence, with the goal of avoiding challenges related to ADHD
We applied for this project to address the critical needs related to the inclusion and support of youth with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) that is recognized as one of the most common disorders affecting young people, often leading to significant challenges such as social exclusion, educational difficulties, stigma, and discrimination. The needs we addressed were rooted in the lack of knowledge and awareness about ADHD among youth workers, communities, and even individuals experiencing the condition. We identified gaps such as: - Insufficient information and data on ADHD prevalence among young people. - A mismatch between the needs of youth with ADHD and the strategies youth workers employed to support them. - Limited inclusive strategies and safe environments tailored for youth with ADHD. These challenges showed the necessity of promoting knowledge transfer, building inclusive practices, and creating tools and resources to empower youth workers and organizations working with youth with ADHD (especially those located in the participating countries: Cyprus, Romania and Croatia).
