The *Learning Sustainably* project aimed to raise awareness of sustainability in hotel and catering operations in the EU. Students deepened their professional and soft skills during internships in hotels and restaurants, focusing on observing and analysing sustainability principles in practice. Teachers improved their methodological and language competences, with emphasis on innovative teaching methods.
We are a secondary vocational hotel school in Poděbrady. Through the project *Learning sustainably*, we linked vocational education with sustainability. In cooperation with partner schools in France and Germany, students took part in short-term internships. The project renewed international mobility after the pandemic, supported students’ professional and language development, raised awareness of sustainability, and promoted teacher training in innovative teaching methods.
