The Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (AMU) has been an active participant in the Erasmus+ programme since its launch in the Czech Republic in the academic year 1998/99. Since then, Erasmus+ has become one of the most important instruments of AMU’s internationalisation policy. It supports both students and staff in gaining valuable international experience, while ensuring that all opportunities are accessible in a transparent and fair way. Equal access remains a central principle of our participation, allowing students and staff from different social, economic, or cultural backgrounds to benefit from mobility. Erasmus+ plays a significant role in strengthening the educational and artistic environment at AMU. By enabling international mobilities, the programme facilitates the exchange of ideas, artistic approaches, and professional practices. These exchanges enrich our teaching and research, contribute to the professional growth of participants, and at the same time enhance intercultural understanding. In the context of performing arts, international cooperation also brings new creative impulses, inspires innovation, and encourages dialogue across cultural and national boundaries. In the framework of the Call 2023 project, AMU focused primarily on the successful implementation of all planned activities. The year was marked by financial constraints, as the awarded budget decreased by 11.12 % compared to Call 2022. At the same time, interest in mobility opportunities continued to grow. Despite this challenging situation, AMU managed to carry out 134 mobilities, which represents an increase compared to 128 mobilities realised in the previous call. To make this possible, the institution also relied on the zero grant mechanism. This solution enabled us to satisfy the high demand for participation while staying within the financial limits of the grant. The necessity to balance increased demand with fewer resources required the project team to introduce flexible measures and to strengthen internal coordination. Considerable effort was invested in the efficient management of financial, administrative, and logistical aspects, so that the quality of mobility implementation remained at a high standard. The knowledge gained in this process has improved our ability to deal with similar challenges in future calls, ensuring that AMU remains a reliable and resilient partner in international cooperation. Another important aspect of the project was the continued development of inclusive forms of mobility. Particular attention was paid to short-term blended mobilities, which combine physical presence abroad with virtual activities. These formats proved effective in extending the range of participants, especially for those who may not be able to commit to longer periods abroad due to personal, professional, or financial reasons. Although the financial conditions of Call 2023 required additional effort and careful adaptation, the project confirmed AMU’s strong commitment to supporting internationalisation and cooperation. Planned activities were successfully completed, participants gained meaningful experiences abroad, and the institution reinforced its international partnerships. Erasmus+ continues to be an essential tool for AMU, contributing not only to the personal and professional development of participants but also to the long-term strengthening of artistic and academic excellence in a global context.
