The financial support granted to our university for the purpose of facilitating mobility programmes for our students and staff plays a key role in accomplishing our goals and in the overall development of our institution. One of our long-term priorities is preparing our graduates for their future lives, both from a professional and a personal standpoint. The main motivation for our participation in the programme therefore stemmed from our belief that participating in mobility abroad will provide an invaluable opportunity for our students to reach their potential. We believed that thanks to being able to experience different academic environments, the students would be able to adopt new theoretical and practical approaches, which will be useful for them in the future, and that spending time abroad will enable them to improve their communication skills in foreign languages. Moreover, we also held the opinion that the mobility will allow them to meet people from different cultural backgrounds, which will enable them to broaden their perspectives and strengthen the values of mutual respect and tolerance. Lastly, we believed that in this way, we will ensure that the students will gain a professional advantage, due to the fact that their participation in the programme will equip them with the right set of skills to present themselves well and effectively cooperate with others in an international environment. Another important area funded by the grant was the staff mobility programmes. In this case, our primary goal was to grant our employees the opportunity to share their expertise with their colleagues from institutions abroad and help them to find new inspiration for their teaching and research in return. We anticipated that this type of interinstitutional cooperation would have a positive impact on their language skills, as well as the quality of their teaching and research. In the case of mobilities of our non-academic staff, we presumed that they will play a part in their language skills development and enable them to share their ideas and their experience, including examples of good practice, with their colleagues from abroad, which will in turn inspire them to develop new projects and help them to make their work procedures more effective. Lastly, we also saw our participation in the project as a chance to further develop existing cooperation and establish new connections with institutions abroad, as well as participate in international projects which align with the values of our university.
