The internationalization of the University of Ostrava is an integral part of its strategic management and is supported by the quality standards for study programmes which reflect a wide range of elements of internationalization of the curriculum. The University of Ostrava strives to ensure that international experience is available in various forms to all students and staff and that related knowledge and skills are part of the university's graduate profile and learning outcomes. The University of Ostrava focuses on the comprehensive development and improvement of conditions that are essential for the prosperity of the international composition of the university's academic community and for the acceleration of the internationalization of study programmes and teaching process. The aim of the internationalization of study programmes is to provide students with international experience and intercultural competences both through easy access to a variety of high-quality international mobility opportunities and their organic integration into their studies, as well as through a wide range of opportunities to gain international experience directly at the University of Ostrava through activities within the so-called internationalization at home and their integration into study programmes. The Erasmus+ programme and the mobility of individuals implemented under this programme are among the key instruments to fulfil the University of Ostrava's vision of internationalization and to achieve the sub-objectives of the University of Ostrava's Strategic Plan 2021-25.
