The implementation of the Erasmus+ KA131 programme at Brno University of Technology (BUT) and the increase in the number of traineeships, study and research stays are among the key objectives of the BUT Strategic Plan for the period from 2021 onwards (https://www.vut.cz/uredni-deska/strategicke-zamery-vut). This strategic plan is followed each year by the Implementation Plans. The long-term priorities of the university include internationalisation, the development of an international dimension in education and creative activities, and the achievement of excellence in scientific research. Through the implementation of the Erasmus+ programme at BUT, we aim to achieve several goals: - Increase the number of student and staff mobilities; balance the numbers of incoming and outgoing students. - Support and motivate students to participate in study or work placements abroad (raise awareness of the benefits of foreign study and work placements for students through online tools, information sessions and promotional events, simplify the administration of study placements through digitalisation). - Implement high-quality student and staff mobilities (ensure that the content of mobilities corresponds to their study or work plan, provide students and staff with clear guidelines for planning mobilities in line with their study/work plan, set central and transparent conditions for the selection of students and staff). - Ensure relevant staff mobilities (i.e. that all staff mobilities are directly relevant to their job position; establish a mechanism for mobility applications in which the benefits for both the employee and BUT are defined in advance). - Contribute to the professional development of administrative and academic staff (support staff development through international mobility focused on language skills [language courses] and knowledge acquisition [job shadowing, participation in Staff Weeks or specialised training]; enable staff working actively with international students to go on mobility to English-speaking countries; allow academic staff to teach at partner universities or shadow foreign colleagues in laboratories). - Build new partnerships and cooperation among higher education institutions. - Increase the visibility of the Erasmus+ programme at BUT (clearly define target groups, create a promotional concept and annual promotional action plans, improve visibility of Erasmus+ for students and staff, create digital and physical promotional materials, and use social media and the university website for promotion). - Develop mobilities and cooperation within the EULiST university network. - Make international mobility more accessible for students and staff with fewer opportunities. - Simplify the administration of mobilities by digitalising processes (EWP, digitalisation of the application process for staff mobility).
