Objectives

Through this project, we are contributing to the fulfilment of our organisation’s mission and vision. Our vision is to live in a society where people treat each other with respect and act responsibly towards themselves and their surroundings. We believe that volunteering and cooperation—both locally and globally—are key to fostering mutual understanding and non-violence. This project allows us to carry out our mission: to create opportunities for active engagement in society and to support the development of knowledge, skills, and attitudes relevant for personal, civic, and professional life. The project contributes to the achievement of the five goals outlined in our accreditation plan: Goal 1: Personal and professional growth By participating in project activities, individuals enhance their skills and develop key competences such as leadership, project and time management, teamwork, communication, facilitation, empathy, conflict resolution, problem solving, and cultural awareness. We help them identify and apply these competences in real-life contexts - during projects, at work, and in everyday life. This development fosters better self-awareness, deeper understanding of others, and a stronger sense of responsibility towards their communities, both locally and globally. Goal 2: Civic understanding and active citizenship This goal focuses on acquiring civic and social competences and on recognising important societal issues - alongside developing the capacity to question them and take meaningful action. We encourage participants to stay involved in volunteering, for example by joining or leading local or international projects. This allows them to put their newly acquired skills into practice and contribute to strengthening active citizenship. We believe civic awareness and participation are essential tools for responding to current societal challenges - at the local, national, and global levels. By addressing relevant topics and sharing opportunities for engagement, we aim to prevent phenomena like populism, radicalisation, toxic competitiveness, and stereotyping, and instead promote a respectful, open, and inclusive society. Goal 3: Capacity building for Youthwork We want youth workers to acquire the skills and attitudes needed to build meaningful relationships with their learners, teams, and volunteers - to pass on knowledge effectively and inspire curiosity and a desire to keep learning. We also focus on strengthening the capacities of youth organisations through innovation in methods and tools (e.g. non-formal education and digital learning). Our activities include sharing needs and goals among organisations (including our own), exchanging good practices, consulting with experts, and co-creating projects and programmes that respond to current challenges in Europe and beyond. Goal 4: Inclusion and equal opportunities Many young people face social barriers that make them believe travel or international mobility is not accessible to them. Our activities aim to show that participation is possible for everyone. Taking part in an international project can be a transformative experience that fosters personal development and may even influence life paths. Goal 5: Intercultural learning To build an open and respectful society, it is essential that young people see diversity as a strength and learn to connect across cultures. Cross-border mobility and intercultural exchanges significantly boost both life and professional skills while connecting people from different backgrounds in spaces of mutual learning. This fosters intercultural understanding and helps prevent stereotyping. To ensure meaningful intercultural learning, we work with partners from various countries to ensure cultural diversity among participants. Intercultural dialogue helps young people understand what steps are needed to create a society based on solidarity, equal opportunities, and conscious life choices—supported by the resources needed to make those choices a reality.
