The project In media we trust? responded to the growing need to strengthen media literacy, critical thinking and online safety among young people. In an era of rapid spread of disinformation and increasing social polarisation, we aimed to create a learning space where young people could understand, analyse and evaluate media content responsibly. The main objectives were to develop young people’s capacity to critically assess media information, understand manipulation techniques, and protect themselves in the digital environment. The project also aimed to promote democratic participation, as critical thinking and information literacy are essential elements of active citizenship. Participants gained practical skills in fact-checking, recognising disinformation, cyber safety, safe digital behaviour and responsible use of social media. Another important objective was to foster intercultural competence and understanding of European values, as the exchange gathered young people from six different countries.
