Project Healthy Habits for a Healthy Life aimed to motivate young Europeans toward a healthy lifestyle and positive habits. Another equally important goal of Healthy Habits for a Healthy Life was also to bring together young Europeans from six national teams and, through non-formal education and an intercultural format, foster friendships and initiate intercultural understanding among them. We believe that we were very successful in both of these main goals. In the context of a long youth exchange (which ultimately lasted a full 9 project days + 2 travel days), we carefully focused on both non-formal educational activities, monitoring the competencies of our participants, their mental well-being, and intercultural learning, as well as thematic activities focused on mental health, sports, and proper nutrition. Our goal was to combine these two approaches and provide many young participants with insight into the world of Erasmus+ short-term mobilities and their benefits, in combination with topic-focused healthy lifestyle activities. As mentioned, the final group of participants that came together for the youth exchange was very young (the average age of participants hovered around 20 years), and many of them had no previous experience with the program—what drew them to the project was the very topic itself.
