Objectives

The project "Voice of the oppressed - together for peace and inclusion" aimed to educate the youth using non-formal education methods on the topics of human rights, peace, European values and war refugees and the organization of cultural social events with elements of dance, acting and singing such as musicals, using work participants in their own musical, costume preparation, creation of the story and outline of the musical. The participants were also non-formally educated in project topics using debate games, simulations, work in international teams, computer games and other informal methodologies. The project allowed participants to share their experiences and stories from the lives of young people living in countries plagued by war and conflict, allowed them to develop their creativity and express their opinions through non-verbal methods such as dance, theater and singing. Through the implementation of the project, we achieved the inclusion of disadvantaged youth facing financial shortages, social problems, educational problems, geographic exclusion and health problems, youth coming from conflict zones and young war refugees who were forced to leave their homes. Another of the project's goals was to organize a campaign to support human rights and European values in our communities, to raise awareness of the issue and suffering of war refugees by creating online campaigns, public events, workshops in our communities and sharing the recording of our musical in the online space and local media. The operational capacity of the involved youth organizations in the field of organizing public events focused on culture and art was also strengthened, we gave the organizations a chance to recruit new young volunteers and educate their existing members in these areas, which increased their attractiveness in their communities. Last but not least, the goal was to organize an international musical and a living library for our fellow citizens in the Moravian-Silesian region created by young people on the theme of supporting human rights, peace, European values and war refugees, which was realized in the cultural house in Jablunkov - Písečná.
