During the past three years, our partner organizations and us have observed the following common experiences: 1) A growing number of young people are becoming increasingly dependent on the internet and social media. They spend a significant amount of their time online. 2) Simultaneously, they expressed a desire for a more sustainable lifestyle, which included self-care, mental well-being, and deeper personal connections in the offline world. However, they often lacked the knowledge and skills to make this desire a reality. 3) Environmental issues hold importance for young people, but they struggle to see how they can personally contribute. As a result, they remain inactive, yearning to be involved in actions that address climate change. 4) Many young people did not have the means to travel or venture outside of the city where they typically spend their time. Consequently, they have limited exposure to nature and rarely benefit from outdoor activities, which have a positive impact on their health and personal development. They frequently expressed complaints about a lack of energy and inspiration. To address this situation, we have collaborated with our partners to develop a training course. This course aimed to equip youth workers with the necessary tools to guide young people in exploring and engaging in positive change. The goal was to assist youth workers in embracing sustainable lifestyles in response to current social and environmental challenges, enabling them to bring knowledge, practical experience, and guidance to both themselves and their young clients. The focus was on enhancing education and implementation of sustainability practices, including zero waste initiatives, recognizing their significance in today's world. The main objective was to empower participants to share their newfound knowledge with their youth groups by organizing workshops for local high school students, allowing them to actively participate in creating a sustainable environment and understand the importance of taking responsibility. OBJECTIVES WERE: 1) to raise personal response of individuals to the climate change; 2) to train attitude of youth workers and young people towards sustainability and zero waste; 3) to educate eco-centric approach to leadership emphasizing a methodology of natural connection: experiencing embodied practices and activities for deep nature connection and learning from the natural world 4) to increase capacity of youth workers and youth in personal connection and emotional resilience via disconnection from on-line devices, offering practices developing mindfulness and empathy
