Objectives

Society is mostly ratio-oriented. From early childhood, we are expected to make rational decisions. In school, we are being trained for a career path long before we are even able to see what we would like to do in our life. First decision of this kind comes already at the age of 15, when we are asked to choose what high school vocation (or work) we are going to follow. As a result, as many as 50 to 75% of all undergraduate students change majors at least one time before earning a degree. Mostly, not because they would actually figure out what they want to follow, but mainly because they discovered what they don’t want. Activities like meditation, listening to one intuition, understanding our emotions, etc. are not part of a regular school curriculum. The Internet provides a number of resources, yet youngsters are mostly missing guidance in order to be able to actually apply the things they are reading online (if they are reading them). Therefore, it remains in the hands of youth workers to support youngsters in listening to their inner voice, inner child, intuition, and heart. (Since neither parents, neither teachers are helping with it.) If youth workers support youngsters in understanding themselves and creating a healthy approach towards regular emotional hygiene, we are raising a young generation that is living in less stress, more aligned with themselves, making more educated choices, following their path calmly and with a bigger persistence. With the consortium, we agreed upon a VISION of a project as a HEART - the main organ pumping the blood, our life force, through our veins; symbol of initial movement, allowing us to go through life; symbol of connection with our inner self, and through our inner self to others; symbol for love, and care, given not only to the world, but also too ourselves. For that, we used following method: Meditation - space for being with ourselves. Mindfulness - to practise being here and now and listening to the calling to our heart. Nature - since connecting with nature has numerous health benefits and supports two previously mentioned methods. Disconnection from ICT (information and communication technologies such as phones, internet, etc.) - to support people with being here and now and connect better to themselves and others. Systemic work - methodology focused on systems and their influences on our lives, and the main method partners would like to know better. As a GOAL, we set up: Equip youth workers with specific methods that will allow them to support youngsters in self-discovery journeys and listen to their hearts. This goal, we broke into following OBJECTIVES: A) To bring 24 youth workers to an activity. B) To educate youth workers in the usage of following methods: systemic work, nature, mindfulness, meditation. C) Record at least 5+ mediation we are going to use during the activity, and make them available online so they can be reused. D) Implement 8 local activities promoting personal self-discovery journey.
