Through the implementation of the Easy Together project, we wanted to achieve stronger inclusion for culturally diverse children and to support their teachers. Our main goal was to provide teachers and educators with practical tools, innovative methods, and competences that helped them address diversity in their classrooms with confidence and empathy. By exchanging good practices between Czechia and Romania, we strengthened cooperation at the European level and showed how schools could integrate inclusive approaches into both formal and non-formal education. The project also contributed to improving the overall classroom atmosphere by promoting tolerance, multicultural understanding, and positive relationships between children of different origins. The partnership exchanged good practices from the field of formal and institutional education in Romania and from the non-formal sector in Czechia, which brought added value and improved education in both countries. Comparing realities and practices in the field of inclusion proved valuable not only for the participating organizations, but also for school professionals across Europe.
We applied for this project because we wanted to respond to the growing needs in the field of inclusion of culturally diverse children. In both Czechia and Romania, migration, European integration, and especially the war in Ukraine had led to a significant increase in the number of students from different cultural backgrounds. These children often face language barriers or social disadvantages, while schools lacked sufficient tools, experience, and methodological materials to support them effectively. There was a strong need for new educational materials that would ease their inclusion while respecting cultural identity, supporting multilingualism, and improving the classroom atmosphere. Teachers and educators needed new competences and opportunities to exchange practices with colleagues abroad so they were not forced to improvise or ignore the challenges. We also wanted to strengthen the capacity of participating organizations to work on a European scale, improve the quality of our work, and develop the competences of our staff. Both organizations are strong at the local level, but our international experience was limited. We expanded our horizons and contributed to the sustainability of our organisations.
