Objectives

By implementing the project we wanted to achieve the following goals. To strengthen the professional competences in the field of mental health care of young professionals working with youth in Nevypusť duši. To strengthen the personal competences of these workers - their self-confidence, language skills, responsibility and sensitivity to multicultural environments. We have supported the motivation of these workers to continue to work in the mental health care system beyond their university studies, thereby supporting the reduction of the shortage of male and female professionals in this long-undervalued sector. We have addressed the impact of covid-19 and anxiety treatment in comparison with international partners. We offered the know-how and experience of Nevypusť duši and other Czech professional organisations to foreign partners. We produced an e-book of transferable good practice with outputs from the visited organisations and disseminated it externally (including abroad). Thanks to the HCD method, we created an equal space for young professionals working with youth to co-create solutions and gave them an active voice and responsibility for achieving the goals (related to strengthening personal and professional competences).

Background

We applied for this project so that we could strengthen the mental health care competencies of young professionals working with youth in Nevypusť duši, as well as to promote their confidence, assurance and multicultural outlook. Through the project we also wanted to strengthen their motivation to stay in this field after their studies and also to enable them to gain international experience and knowledge that they can transfer to their studies and future profession. We also want to support the reduction of the long-standing shortage of mental health professionals in the country. The project offered a unique opportunity to look at the impact of covid-19 and anxiety treatment in a foreign context and to develop transferable examples of good practice from these in the form of an e-book and to disseminate this e-book externally to the participating organisations. We wanted to offer foreign partners our know-how, experience and an expanding dimension on mental health care. Throughout the project, we worked with the Human centered design method, which uniquely allowed all young professionals to actively participate in the implementation of the project and together find solutions to effectively meet the goals and become their creators.
