Our target group were pre-service and in-service teachers. We saw in them carriers of 3DMP knowledge and skills to next generations. Originally, we planned to prepare a 3DMP course: to specify its content based on appropriate didactical background, to prepare a set of sample STEAM-oriented tasks, to train 50 pre-service educators as well as to disseminate the 3DMP awareness to general public.
3D printing technologies belong among leading innovations of 21st century. On one side, it is groundbreaking; on the other side, its implementation requires a large variety of specialists: researchers, technicians, designers, engineers and mathematicians. They have to collaborate effectively and be aware of their own limits and the limits of other disciplines. For us, the community of educators interested in 3D Modelling and Printing (3DMP), such course appeared as an optimal STEAM subject. It integrates elements of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. In our project were looking for an effective way of its implementation.
