With the implementation of this project, the TU Braunschweig (TUBS) aims to achieve its stated international objectives. TUBS sees itself as an open‐minded research university that seeks to attract students and researchers from many nations. Its fundamental internationalization goals are as follows: 1. TUBS ranks among the top universities worldwide in its strategic research focus areas. 2. TUBS leverages its international reach to further strengthen its performance and extend its impact. 3. TUBS prepares its graduates for international research and career opportunities. 4. TUBS is perceived as an attractive, high-performing international university. Goals 2, 3 and 4 are directly linked to the Erasmus+ Programme and address the themes set out in the ECHE. The Erasmus+ Programme makes a significant contribution to the realization of these strategic goals and is regarded at TUBS as an essential component of its internationalization efforts. The emphasis is on mobility activities for students and staff and on cooperation with both European and non-European partner institutions. Another objective is to promote short-term and blended mobilities, thus enabling those participants who—for personal reasons—cannot spend an entire semester abroad to still gain an intercultural experience.
