Objectives

DHBW Loerrach has firmly anchored the further development and expansion of its internationalization in its mission statement. This is evident in the consistent pursuit of one of its main goals: to ensure the employability of students in the modern, globalized job market. In a time when the demands on professionals are constantly increasing and labor markets are becoming more internationalized, it is crucial that students not only acquire theoretical knowledge but also gain practical experience that prepares them for the challenges of the global economy. For this reason, a special emphasis has been placed on promoting student mobility, both during theoretical and practical phases. This includes not only exchange programs but also internships abroad, which provide students with the opportunity to expand their intercultural competencies and build valuable networks. The university is aware that such experiences not only foster the personal development of students but also significantly enhance their attractiveness in the job market. Another focus, particularly in light of the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, has been on stabilizing and intensifying international collaborations. The pandemic has posed challenges to many existing partnerships, and the university has proactively taken measures to strengthen and expand these relationships. The goal is to provide participants with a reliable, differentiated, and attractive offering that helps them navigate an increasingly interconnected world. Last but not least, the internationalization strategy is an important building block in the university's profile development. It contributes to optimally positioning the university in national and international competition. By creating an international environment, not only is academic excellence promoted, but also the diversity and exchange of ideas that are essential for innovative education. With participation in the Erasmus+ project 2023, these efforts have been further supported. This program not only provides financial resources but also a platform for the exchange of best practices and the development of new initiatives that further advance the university's internationalization. DHBW Loerrach is committed to leveraging the opportunities arising from this participation to strengthen its international relationships and offer students an even broader range of opportunities.
