For TH Wildau, the Erasmus programme represents for many years one of the most important pillars of our international activities and a key instrument to enhance and to foster the international cooperation with our partner institutions as well as the mobility abroad of students, professors and staff members. Therefore, our Erasmus+ activities have mainly been focused on key action 1. At our university, the participation in Erasmus+ programme has always been considered as an essential element of internationalization, mutual understanding at an international level and cooperation with our partners in Europe in view of the challenges and problems of a more and more globalised world, increasingly affected by political crises as well. Against this background, the respect of the European values is a matter of course for us. Within our Erasmus+ project 2023, with traditional focus on individual mobilities for learning, teaching or training, we wanted also to benefit from the new formats of mobility, offered in the current programme generation, by taking part in BIPs for Students or Staff at partner institutions and to gain useful experiences in organizing an own BIP later on. Especially through BIPs, we wanted to motivate even more students, particularly from our Engineering Department, to gain a short study experience abroad. For our university, BIPs are an interesting and important tool to promote actively new (short-term) mobility formats according to our internationalization strategy, implemented in 2022, in order to open up opportunities for international experiences for as many students (and staff members) as possible. In addition, we consider BIPs also as an incentive for our students to take the plunge and to spend a whole semester abroad later on. Furthermore, it was very important to us to spread the Erasmus+ programme even further within our university and to promote in particular the participation of students with fewer opportunities (most of them with social barriers) in mobility activities with our partners in Europe and to open them new chances and horizons. Other important concerns were the further digitalisation of IIA with our partners (via the Erasmus Dashboard) and the promotion of sustainability.
