Alice Salomon Hochschule Berlin, University of Applied Sciences is a long-established and internationally recognized state university for social work, health, education, and training. It promotes its internationalization through the worldwide exchange of students, teachers, and staff, as well as through the participation of its scientists in international research projects. Participation in the Erasmus+ program makes a significant contribution to this. The central target group of the internationalization strategy is the students: they should be trained to be international and cosmopolitan, develop intercultural sensitivity and (professional) political engagement, and be strengthened in their personal growth in order to be as well prepared as possible for a globalized labor market. The acquisition of transcultural skills and insights into international academic approaches and methods is considered an integral part of a comprehensive academic education, which is made possible in particular through mobility abroad, but also through “Internationalization@Home” measures. The long-term goal is to make these elements a natural part of the study program for all students. The university's internationally oriented degree programs prepare students specifically for new, cross-border tasks and fields of practice. As enshrined in the ASH Berlin mission statement, the university supports the acquisition and deepening of foreign language and transcultural skills through a wide range of offers for all members of the university community. Mobility, close cooperation with international partners, exchange programs, diverse measures for Internationalization@Home, and the promotion of inclusion and diversity are defining characteristics of the university.
