Objectives

The University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover (TiHo) has been leveraging the Erasmus Programme for many years to advance the internationalisation of the university and its members. A significant part of this effort is driven by the KA131 mobility projects. Through the diverse experiences of our students and staff participating in outgoing mobility, as well as through "internationalisation at home" fostered by incoming participants, the Erasmus Programme plays a vital role in supporting our internationalisation strategy. With the implementation of project 2023-1-DE01-KA131-HED-000117048, our aim was to strengthen the university’s international profile, improve foreign language skills among our academic community, and promote a stronger sense of European identity among both outgoing and incoming participants. TiHo is a research-intensive university with a strong international network. The Erasmus Programme enables us to closely collaborate with our European partners and support the development of early-career researchers. The introduction of new mobility formats has expanded our target groups, with an increasing number of doctoral candidates now participating. Additionally, the introduction of social top ups has allowed us to reach groups that had previously been more hesitant to engage.
