Objectives

Philipps-Universität Marburg is interested in increasing the mobility of its students as well as its teaching and administrative staff, enabling them to spend time abroad and providing them with high-quality support. At the same time, the university is actively working to be an attractive location for students and members of other status groups from abroad. It is committed to the principles of the “Erasmus Charter for Higher Education” and thus to the mobility programs of the EU. As part of this project, for example, partnerships with other universities, particularly European universities, should be expanded in order to promote the exchange of knowledge, experience and best practices. Academic cooperation should be strengthened and new research and teaching opportunities should be opened up. In addition, the 2022 project should increase the intercultural competence of all participants and promote a sense of social responsibility among mobility participants. Specifically, the advisory and support structures (including recognition) were also to be improved in order to achieve an increase in the mobility figures for Marburg students. A concrete goal in this context was and is to increase the quantity and quality of study-related stays abroad for Marburg students. Philipps-Universität Marburg planned to implement all areas of individual mobility: Student mobility for studies and internships as well as staff mobility for teaching and further education and training. In student mobility for studies, all 16 departments at the traditional comprehensive university were to participate in the Erasmus+ program.
