The Erasmus+ programme primarily pursued the objective of sustainably promoting and quantitatively increasing individual learning mobility. It provides students as well as university staff with the opportunity to gain study, teaching, and research experience worldwide, while simultaneously fostering international cooperation and networks. Within the framework of these mobilities, the programme seeks not only to enhance social and intercultural competencies and to cultivate reflective critical thinking, but also to systematically expand digital skills and competences. Furthermore, the programme aims to stimulate discourse on ecological issues and to strengthen environmentally conscious behaviour. In doing so, participants are optimally prepared for the demands of the globalised labour market in the fields of economy, society, and academia, while also being attuned to the challenges of multicultural and multilingual environments. Additional key concerns include the recognition of academic achievements obtained abroad, the increase in the number of international students, the academic exchange of teaching staff, the intensification of cooperation with partner universities, and the initiation of joint projects. Equally central are the expansion and continuous development of existing networks and research collaborations. In implementing the programme, particular emphasis is placed on quality, inclusion and equality, creativity and innovation, as well as on the integration of digital tools in mobility management. For successful positioning within the European and global education market, cross-border cooperation with higher education institutions, as well as with mobile students and teaching staff, is indispensable. By participating in the Erasmus+ programme, individuals not only broaden their intercultural and international competencies, but also foster their personal development and employability, while at the same time strengthening their awareness of and commitment to fundamental European values.
