Objectives

As part of the Erasmus KA131 project, we took targeted steps at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar to further develop and strengthen our internationalisation strategy. Our efforts focused on the following areas: 1. Expansion of international networks and partnerships: Through the project, we aimed to intensify our existing partnerships and establish new collaborations with music institutions and academic establishments worldwide. This networking is intended not only to promote the exchange of students and teachers, but also to enable joint research projects and artistic collaborations. 2. Increasing mobility: A central concern of the project was to increase the mobility of our students and staff. This includes both the opportunity for students to spend part of their studies abroad and for lecturers to undertake teaching and research stays at partner institutions. This is intended to deepen international experience and promote intercultural exchange. 3. Promotion of intercultural skills: The project also aimed to strengthen intercultural skills among all participants. We see this as a fundamental prerequisite for successful participation in international discourse and for working in globally networked musical and academic contexts. 4. Improving language skills: The Erasmus project offered the opportunity to develop and implement specific programmes to promote the language skills of our students and staff. Improving foreign language skills is essential for active participation in international exchange. 5. Integration of digital teaching and learning formats: Another goal of the project was to integrate modern technologies and digital formats more strongly into teaching and learning processes. This is intended to improve accessibility to and participation in international educational resources and promote networked learning. In this context, a first BIP project was realised. In summary, our project aimed to promote internationalisation at the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar in a way that offers our students and staff a broader spectrum of international experience and skills, strengthens cooperation with global partners, and contributes to excellence in teaching, research, and artistic practice.
