Objectives

Internationalization is one of the central strategic pillars of Hochschule Worms and is deeply embedded in the university’s identity and development. This commitment is clearly reflected in the composition of our student body: more than 3,200 students are currently enrolled, and the international presence is tangible on campus every day. Of these, around 800 are international students pursuing their full degree at Hochschule Worms or studying with us as part of an exchange program. This diversity enriches the academic environment, fosters intercultural dialogue, and prepares all students for careers in a globalized world. The ERASMUS+ program plays a particularly pivotal role in implementing the university’s internationalization strategy. It provides students, teaching staff, and administrative employees with valuable opportunities for mobility across Europe, strengthening academic collaboration and personal development alike. However, despite these opportunities, Hochschule Worms has faced challenges in fully realizing its planned mobilities. A significant number of students have opted for international internships rather than study-abroad semesters, while others have chosen to attend partner institutions outside the ERASMUS+ framework. These factors, combined with the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, have meant that mobility numbers have not yet returned to pre-pandemic levels. Beyond student exchanges, Hochschule Worms is also committed to advancing training, teaching, and internship mobilities within the ERASMUS+ framework. These activities are organized in collaboration with the consortium a.i.m. rlp, located at another institution in Rhineland-Palatinate. This partnership allows us to broaden the scope and reach of our international efforts, ensuring that both students and staff benefit from high-quality mobility opportunities. Looking ahead, Hochschule Worms remains dedicated to further expanding its international profile. By continuously diversifying exchange opportunities, strengthening global partnerships, and promoting intercultural experiences both on campus and abroad, the university strives to equip its graduates with the skills, knowledge, and mindset needed to thrive in an interconnected world.
