The KSH is one of Bavaria's most important players in higher education for social, nursing, health and educational professions. As a university in the EU, which continues to face increasing nationalism and populism, the KSH sees its educational mission as a responsibility to actively participate in the further development of a European educational area and shares the programme priorities of the European Commission. In view of ongoing profound social changes, KSH places a special strategic focus on learning mobility. Students are given the opportunity to gain international learning experiences in various forms with the vision that stays abroad for study and learning purposes will become the norm, that students will learn another European language in addition to German and English, and that students will be aware of their European identity, Europe's cultural heritage and its diversity. The aim is not only to promote a European identity and consolidate democratic and pluralistic values, but also to encourage social participation and prepare students for the changing demands of the labour market and society.
