Objectives

The EU-Praktikum THÜRINGEN consortium aims to intensify cooperation between universities and industry while strengthening Europe as an economic area. The goal is to train potential skilled workers for the German and Thuringian labor market. In quantitative terms, the aim is to offer support to as many students as possible, a goal that has been achieved through the full utilization of available funds and additional financial approvals. In terms of quality, the focus is on needs-based counseling and well-maintained partnerships in order to enable high-quality internships that provide students with both technical and intercultural skills that are useful for universities and the labor market. In addition to foreign language skills, stays abroad also promote personal and social skills such as adaptability, independence, and problem-solving abilities, which are considered particularly valuable. Furthermore, internships abroad contribute significantly to political education by promoting understanding of democratic processes and intercultural sensitivity, thus helping to develop mature, cosmopolitan citizens. Many years of cooperation have resulted in a regional and transnational network of partnerships with companies abroad and stakeholders. The focus is also on raising awareness of the Erasmus+ program, particularly with regard to the wide range of internship opportunities and support services available, as well as flexible handling of mobility.
