International mobility and with it the participation in the Erasmus+ programme remains a key pillar of the internationalisation strategy of THWS and complements other pillars like the recruitment of international degree-seeking students in key areas, in particular staff mobility. The aim of THWS is not primarily to simply increase the number of mobilities (student or staff), but to improve the quality of relationships with partners by extending partnerships to several faculties. Strategic partnerships, with which THWS cooperates in various study areas and in which Erasmus+ is an important pillar of cooperation, were thus intensified during the project period. The number of mobilities had fallen sharply due to the pandemic. With this project, we could see mobility numbers recovering and stabilizing and more students wanting to go on an exchange again. Blended and short term format allowed us to further open the possibilities for exchange for our students. Blended Intensive Programmes in particular were used to mobilize study areas which are not typically particularly mobile. Staff mobilities strengthened our partnerships while the international dimension allowed for valuable contribution to our strategic partnerships outside of Erasmus+ programme countries. The project was also intended to prepare and kick-off the European University Alliance UNINOVIS.
