The aim of the short-term project was to further qualify Hessian teacher trainees and their trainee teachers as far as the implementation of inclusive school education in other European countries, using Italy and Estonia as examples, is concerned. This took place by giving them some deeper insight into the subject matter during three-week job shadowing (teacher trainees) or a one-week workshop on “Inclusion and School in Italy” (teacher trainers).
The context of the short-term project was a transnational discourse of teachers on the possibilities and limits of inclusive school education and social participation, initiated by the Hessian Teachers' Academy as the training authority for the pedagogical preparatory service in the federal state of Hesse/Germany, and carried out with its partners, a vocational school in Voru (Estonia), and Eurocultura, an organization cooperating with vocational schools in Vicenza (Italy).
