The main aim of PSSARP was to analyse the impact of affective and social competences on the rehabilitation process of inmates and to develop practice-oriented learning materials for prison professionals and family members. Furthermore, the project sought to produce scientific articles, policy recommendations, and open online courses to raise awareness of affectivity in prison systems and promote exchange between justice, education, and psychology across Europe.
The Erasmus+ project PSSARP – Psychological Strategies for the Sexual and Affective Re-education of Prisoners was developed through the shared commitment of partner organisations from Germany, Romania, and Italy to explore new approaches to rehabilitation. The initiative focused on how affectivity – the ability to perceive, express and respond to emotions – can serve as a learning and developmental factor within prison education and re-socialisation processes. The partners built upon their diverse experiences in correctional institutions, social work, and adult education.
