Objectives

Through our holistic approach to AI integration in education and work, we have systematically observed and analyzed current AI developments and their impact on the labour market and education system. With a Europe-wide discourse format, we established a platform for an intensive exchange on these transformations. Our innovative online event series with social media support brought together diverse perspectives and opened up new learning horizons. The focus was on building an active community of practice that supported each other in exploring AI topics. Sector-specific case studies documented existing AI influences, while concrete recommendations for action provided guidance for decision-makers. All findings and content were incorporated into a flexible online course system that enables asynchronous, lifelong learning and provides valuable recommendations for the future-oriented use of AI.

Background

FROLLEINFLOW launched this project to actively respond to the challenges and opportunities presented by rapid digital development, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). New demands on the labour and education market require strategies to help workers adapt. Developments in digital markets and their impact on work and education have long been observed by FROLLEINFLOW, with a particular focus on the accelerating progress of AI through deep learning. While its potential and consequences for society, the economy and democracy remain uncertain, adaptation within the European workforce is inevitable. These changes offer opportunities in the face of skills shortages, but also present challenges in keeping pace with increasing demands - the traditional education system is often unable to keep up. With this project, FROLLEINFLOW wants to focus on the gap between technological acceleration and political adaptation (e.g. Individual Learning accounts aka ILAs). We discuss different adaptation approaches and develop an attractive, informal access format to lay the foundations in the area of 'future skills', ensuring that workers can meet new demands and promoting European labour market competitiveness.
