The primary aim of the project was to raise awareness of Climate Change and it effects on the environment. Young people today are very interested in environmental issues and so our project should help to develop green skills and inspire participants to live more sustainable and greener lifestyles. The transnational cooperation should show our students that they are not alone with their concerns, but that there is great agreement across national borders in the efforts and views to protect our earth and shape a future worth living. The exchange of ideas, learning together and from each other, the mutual demonstration of good practices was aimed at creating a greater understanding for each other and for other cultures and should contribute to the education of tolerance, participation and civic engagement. The project also aimed to increase knowledge of the European Union's efforts to protect the environment, for example through legislation, regulations, initiatives and the Green Deal, and to help our students and staff and those around them to identify more strongly with the values of the European Union and to develop a sense of community as Europeans. It was intended to improve learning motivation, digital and language skills.
We applied for the project because our schools felt the need to internationalize our training programmes. We wanted to offer our students new forms of learning and learning environments to increase their motivation to learn, broaden their horizons and gain initial experience in international working groups. In all three partner schools, the topic of sustainability has already been firmly anchored in the curriculum. We saw the choice of our project topic - climate change and sustainability - as an opportunity to make the topic even more central to the attention of learners and their social environment and to convey the message that everyone is called upon to contribute to climate protection and that we can only solve global problems by acting together, regardless of national borders, world views or socio-economic differences. We wanted to focus on what unites us, not on what makes us different. By exchanging, comparing and learning from each other, we wanted to promote mutual knowledge, understanding and respect and thus make a contribution to greater tolerance and international understanding. We also saw our project as an opportunity to develop a greater awareness of European values among our pupils and their social environment.
