Georman Youthtopia The primary goal of the "Georman Youthtopia" activity was to facilitate learning and exchange on the subject of resilience in activism. Young activists, confronting crises such as climate change, rising political unrest, and (online) hate violence, often experience a sense of inadequacy in their efforts. In Germany, the climate movement faced significant setbacks, leading to a pervasive feeling of futility among activists. Similarly, the democracy movement in Georgia encountered analogous sentiments of discouragement. To address these challenges, "Georman Youthtopia" aimed to rejuvenate the energies of young activists by teaching resilience methods and fostering interactions between activists from Germany and Georgia. By engaging in these exchanges, participants could discover new self-care practices to bolster the resilience essential for sustained political activism. This activity was crucial in helping young activists recharge and maintain their commitment to their causes despite facing substantial adversities. Feast For Change The second activity, "Feast For Change," was designed to deepen understanding of Global Food Justice and explore solutions at both individual and societal levels. The paradox of increasing food waste alongside persistent global hunger and undernutrition poses critical questions: Why does this dichotomy exist? How do global economic structures perpetuate hunger and malnutrition? What can individuals do to combat this enduring crisis? "Feast For Change" addressed these questions through a combination of theoretical and practical workshops, offering a comprehensive exploration of hunger and nutrition on a global scale. Participants engaged in activities that not only provided a diverse understanding of these issues but also equipped them with actionable strategies to mitigate hunger and malnutrition in their communities. This activity emphasized the importance of informed, hands-on approaches to addressing global food justice issues. Standing Together The third activity, "Standing Together" aimed to foster understanding of right wing populism in different European countries. By elaborating a common definition and applying it to examples in their own realities, participants from Germany, Hungary, Italy and Greece achieved a better understanding of the democratic threats of right wing populism and the consequences for society. Standing Together as well focused on activism as a way of counteracting against Right Wing populism. Even though political crises can result in frustration, the sharing of activism aimed to empower everyone to be resilient against political conflicts. Overarching Objective: European Solidarity and Friendship A central objective of all activities was to foster European solidarity and friendship. In an era marked by rising nationalism and increasing Euroscepticism among young people, promoting the benefits of the European Union and international cooperation is more critical than ever. By facilitating interactions among young people from different countries, these activities aimed to highlight the positive impacts of the European Union and the value of international collaboration. Through these exchanges, participants were encouraged to appreciate the interconnectedness of their efforts and the broader significance of their activism within the European context. Building friendships and solidarity across borders was intended to counteract the divisive tendencies of nationalism and strengthen a collective European identity among the youth. In summary, the activities "Georman Youthtopia", "Feast For Change" and "Standing Together" not only addressed specific issues of resilience in activism and global food justice but also contributed to the overarching goal of enhancing European solidarity. By bringing together young activists from all over Europe, these initiatives aimed to empower individuals, foster mutual understanding, and reinforce the collective strength needed to tackle both local and global challenges.
