Objectives

The fundamental aim of our project was and continues to be to broaden the scope of international youth work in relation to young people and professionals, to develop it further and to make it more sustainable. We described these goals in the 2022 update of the Local Development Plan for Nuremberg, which was also adopted by the Youth Welfare Committee: 1. more international mobility programmes for young people in Nuremberg 2. networking, training and support for local professionals We can pursue this quantitative and qualitative expansion with Erasmus+ funding. However, it should also be noted that this process is still being developed. We have tried out a lot during the project period, discarded some things - but we have definitely learnt an incredible amount and continue to learn through successes and hurdles with every measure. Together with our partners abroad and with our colleagues in Nuremberg, we have already achieved one thing: international youth work, international mobility measures such as youth and specialist exchanges have once again become more important in open child and youth work facilities and among network partners in Nuremberg. But awareness in the city administration, in politics and in urban society has also increased significantly. And youth exchanges are also becoming more present in Nuremberg's partner cities. As a result, young people themselves, youth issues and youth culture are being given a positive image through the activities. It is also pleasing to see that the number of colleagues who are organising international mobilities or are about to do so has increased significantly. We are at the beginning of an interesting journey that we would like to take with as many young people as possible over the next few years. It is worthwhile in many respects.
