The idea of the project was born after a few youngsters from Donaworth took part in a sports event organised in the Czech Republic by a local NGO. The event gathered participants from several European countries and during 3 days of practicing various sports they got to make connections, practiced sport, and crucially realized the benefits of practicing sport along with someone from a different country, while exchanging ideas, developing interpersonal competences, discovering the culture and background of that person. Together with Daniel from Romania and Andreia from Portugal our colleagues Vlad and Mario came up with the idea of organizing a youth exchange in Germany with the purpose of increasing interpersonal competences among young people by providing them with an opportunity to learn and practice a new skill in a fun and engaging way, while practicing a not so popular sport in the partner countries - archery. Archery is not only a physical activity, but also a mental one that requires focus, discipline, and perseverance. These are essential life skills that benefit the participants in their personal and professional lives. The goal of "Personal Targets" project was to provide young people with the opportunity to learn and improve their interpersonal competencies, while practicing archery and engaging in personal development activities and cultural exchange. The objectives of the project were the following: 1. Develop communication, teamwork, focus, discipline, and goal-setting competences through hands-on practice of archery among 40 youngsters aged 18-25 coming from DE, RO, PT, ES and HU by the end of the project. 2. Improve intercultural understanding and communication through collaboration and team building activities among 40 participants aged 18-25 from DE, RO, PT, ES and HU by the end of the project. 3. Build a sustainable network between the participating organisations from DE, RO, PT, ES and HU, promoting future cooperation and joint projects until the end of the project. All objectives of the project were reached successfully.
