Objectives

Climate change is one of the most pressing challenges of our time, affecting not only the environment but also the daily lives of millions of people around the world. The " Youth on Board: Quo Vadis Climate Change?! " youth exchange project was designed to raise awareness and mobilize young people on this issue. The first objective of our project was to raise awareness among participants about the devastating impacts of climate change, with a focus on the lived realities of vulnerable groups. We wanted young people to understand how droughts, floods, sea level rise and other climate events affect not only the environment, but also people’s health, safety and livelihoods. Another key objective was to inspire young people to take active action in their communities. We wanted them to become agents of change, able to advocate for just and sustainable climate policies and participate in local initiatives. The project also aimed to create a space where young people could exchange ideas, share experiences and reflect on the approaches taken by different countries, especially non-EU countries, to climate change. This helped to enrich their understanding and broaden their perspective. Finally, we wanted to provide participants with practical tools to organise awareness-raising campaigns, both online and in person. The aim was to equip them with concrete skills to promote climate justice in their communities after the project. During the eight days of the exchange, interactive workshops were organised to inform young people about the causes and consequences of climate change. These sessions included presentations, group discussions and case studies on the impacts of climate change in different contexts.
