Intercultural communication is a field of study focused on enhancing understanding between different cultural identities by increasing awareness of cultural differences and fostering effective communication. Despite the ideal vision of a world living in harmony, various challenges persist due to factors like migration driven by war, unemployment, poverty, and political instability. Individuals migrating from regions like Ukraine and the Middle East often struggle to integrate into new societies due to cultural and language barriers, alongside facing difficulties in healthcare and social integration. Furthermore, globalization has intensified interactions between people from diverse cultures, underscoring the importance of intercultural communication. However, merely using a common language does not eliminate communication challenges; differences in pronunciation, intonation, and word meanings can lead to misunderstandings. These linguistic differences, compounded by variations in religion, language, race, socio-economic status, and culture, hinder effective collaboration and understanding. Addressing these challenges necessitates a concerted effort and the development of new skills. Intercultural communication involves various components, including verbal and non-verbal communication, written communication, and body language. To mitigate communication-related conflicts, it is crucial to educate young people about the social norms, behavioral patterns, and expressive gestures of different cultures. In summary, the primary focus of this project is to minimize language barriers stemming from intercultural differences and enhance the communication abilities of participants from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Through targeted activities, the project aims to equip individuals with the skills needed to communicate effectively and navigate intercultural interactions successfully. Specific objectives: 1. To raise awareness of participants and local people on the importance of language barriers in intercultural interaction 2. To provide young people with the ability to use language effectively in intercultural communication. 3. Increase cooperation and communication between youth institutions and young people in Europe 4. To develop intercultural learning by promoting tolerance and cooperation towards different cultures in young people.
