One of the main objectives of the project was to empower a heterogenous group of participants to make a first (international) experience with the Erasmus+ programme. The particular focus here was on empowering young people with fewer opportunities, such as discrimination through racism, migration and classism, socio-economic disadvantage and poverty. The participatory programme planning was intended to create positive experiences of self-efficacy for the participants and at the same time ensure that the realities of their lives were taken into account. The participants designed the programme themselves and were supported and accompanied in the planning and implementation by the project coordinators. The content of the programme focused on the topics of ‘friendship and intercultural encounters’ between the young people, their places of residence and different backgrounds, as well as strengthening language skills through joint communication in a foreign language (English).
