Objectives

The “Exchange the Change EuroMed” project focused on the vital issue of youth mental health in a post-COVID world. Despite increasing awareness, many young people still struggle with mental health challenges exacerbated by burnout, stress, and the isolating effects of the pandemic and social media. To address this, our project brought together 42 participants from Germany, Turkey, Tunisia, Morocco, Italy, Greece, and Egypt for a transformative youth exchange in Germany. Through non-formal education methods, we aimed to enhance understanding and support for mental health among diverse cultures. Key Objectives: - Educate participants on mental health issues, coping strategies, and when to seek help. - Foster emotional resilience to navigate challenging situations. - Promote self-awareness and positive mental health practices, such as gratitude and guided meditation. - Engage in interactive workshops and discussions to enhance logical thinking and comprehension. - Encourage a sense of European identity and intercultural dialogue. - Develop innovative educational approaches to promote mental health awareness locally. - Challenge cultural stereotypes and intolerance surrounding mental health. - Ensure inclusivity by involving youth with fewer opportunities in the Erasmus+ program. - Build strong networks among young people focused on mental health advocacy. - By the end of this exchange, participants left equipped with knowledge, skills, and a deeper sense of community, ready to champion mental health awareness in their own countries.
